The AIR II camera detects driving events based on G-force activity, such as rapid acceleration, hard braking, and sharp turns. When one of these events occurs, the camera provides an in-cab audio alert to the driver and automatically records video footage of the incident.
Event videos can be viewed in the GPS Fleet Tracking Portal, in the Camera Events section of the Overview tab on a Vehicle Card, or in the Media Library.
Alert Event Types
Default thresholds for the event types are provided below. If you would like to change any of the thresholds listed below, please contact your Account Manager.
- Hard Acceleration – Default .27g
- Hard Brake – Default .35g
- Hard Turn – Default .31g
- Driver Initiated – Generated when the driver pushes the Manual Event button
- Power Lost
- Note: Triggered when the device is disconnected from power. This is not to be confused with the camera being in Rest mode when ignition is off.
GPS Tracking
For GPS Tracking, the AIR II provides the following data points captured at a 1-minute update rate:
- Ignition Status
- Camera Events
- Power Events
- Trip Info
- Speeding Events (user-defined in GPS Fleet Tracking Portal)
If a diagnostic cable has been used as the power source for installation, the camera/tracker may report the engine diagnostics listed below, if supported by the vehicle (varies by year/make/model).
- DTC Troubleshoot Codes
- Odometer
- Fuel Level
- Voltage
- Coolant Temperature
AIR II Pro Plus
For customers with the Fleet All-in-One Pro Plus plan, the AIR II will auto-upload (no more video requests) footage and generate the following ADAS (road-facing) and DMS (driver-facing) AI events in addition to the Alert event types identified above:
| Road-Facing | Driver-Facing |
|---|---|
| Forward Collision Warning* Close Following Lane Departure Stop Sign Violation Pedestrian Collision Warning* | Drowsiness/Fatigue Cell Phone Use Distracted Driving Seatbelt |
Note: These features are disabled by default; users with permissions can enable these events from the Admin: Cameras tab.
For AI event definitions, please refer to Fleet All-in-One with AI FAQ.
AI events are available in all areas where Alert Events can be found:
Flagging False Triggers
Since AI continuously learns and improves, some events may occasionally be triggered in error. If you encounter a video clip that appears to be a false trigger, you can easily flag and report it directly from the video player.
When you are playing a video from the Camera Media Library, click the down arrow next to the event type and then click Report clip as false trigger.

A pop-up will appear in the top-right corner of the screen, confirming that the clip was reported successfully.
Live View
Live View is available for FAIO Pro Plus customers. This feature lets you see what’s happening on the road in near real-time. It streams images from the AIR II camera in a simple photo feed, giving you quick access to both the road ahead and the driver’s perspective.
Using Live View
- Locate the vehicle for which you would like to see live view from the Vehicles list or use the filters or search features and click on the vehicle entry.
The Vehicle Card for the applicable vehicle opens on the right-hand side of the screen. - From the Vehicle Card on the Map Page, scroll to the Camera Live View section of the Overview tab.
- Click + Start Live View.
The Live View pop-up appears.
Note: The view provides a photo-like stream at 2 frames per second (fps), so you may see a “Waiting for image…” message immediately after the pop-up opens until a frame is available.
Viewing a Camera Event
Triggered events are automatically recorded. You can view a camera event from the following locations in the Portal:
Note: If you have Fleet All-in-One (FAIO) Pro Plus, all recorded events are automatically uploaded to the Portal and are ready for viewing without needing to request the video from the device first.

- From the Vehicle Card, click Manual request next to Camera clips.
The Request Media pop-up appears. In the bottom-left corner, the pop-up displays your current clip quota, allowing you to quickly view your available clips at a glance.

- (Optional) Enter a name for the clip under “Clip Name.”
- Under “Start Date”, select a date using the calendar picker.
- Under “Start Time”, use the time picker to select a time or click Now.

A message is shown toward the top-right of the screen to confirm the clip was requested successfully.
After a clip request is submitted, it may take some time for the video to appear in the Manual Requests section of the Vehicle Card while the Portal updates and the camera responds.
